The 1914 Ullswater Rovers Team

The stories of the men pictured in the photo below of Ullswater Rovers  Football Team in April 1914, just 4 months before war was declared. The photo was published in the Mid Cumberland and North Westmorland Herald on the 4th April 1914, when they won the Penrith and District Cup after a replay, having beaten Appleby 3 - 2. For each of the names in red we have tried to find out as much about their stories as possible - click in the relevant names for more details. See of Ullswater Football Team Then and Now page for more photos, or our Roll of Honour page for all the Stories of the men from our Dale who fought in the First World War.

If you can help us to add to the stories of the any of the players then please contact us.
